Among the newer releases available on Disney Plus are Noelle, which stars Anna Kendrick as Kris Kringle’s daughter and Bill Hader as Nick Kringle. When her brother takes a leave of absence, Noelle has to step in and deliver the presents on time. This movie’s an early outing for the talented Kendrick, who shows off her acting chops in this wholesome flick.
Another good option is Babes in Toyland, a 1964 movie that’s sure to delight children and adults alike. While not exactly a Christmas movie per se, Frozen 1 and 2 definitely have that special something that makes them feel festive. It’s hard not to love Queen Elsa, her sister Anna and their adorable sidekicks as they struggle to save their kingdom from endless winter. It’s also impossible not to hum along with the twinkling Alan Silvestri music, which is quickly becoming a Christmas classic in its own right.
A Christmas Story is one of those films that many of us grew up watching and enjoying, and it’s still as beloved today as ever. All Ralphie wants for Christmas is a Red Ryder 200-shot BB gun, but his mother, teachers and everyone else seems to think it’s too much. But after he’s left alone with the bb gun, Ralphie finds his own way to make it a merry Christmas.
There are other classic Christmas movies to be found on Disney Plus, too, like Miracle on 34th Street, which is a film that’s both uplifting and heartwarming. And of course, there’s the Charles Dickens classic A Christmas Carol, reimagined by Robert Zemeckis with the Muppets and Michael Caine as Ebenezer Scrooge.
So grab some popcorn, gather the family around the TV and settle in for a night of Christmas movies on Disney Plus. You’ll be glad you did. And if you don’t have a subscription to Disney Plus, there are plenty of other great options for Christmas movies out there on Netflix, HBO Max, Hulu and Amazon Prime Video. Happy watching!
